Race Across the World 2025

Race Across the World is back! Season 5 kicks off in one of the most exciting places on the planet… The Great Wall of China!

If you love travel, adventure, and watching people get a bit lost with a backpack and a tight budget, you’re going to want to tune in this year.

Here’s everything you need to know about Race Across the World 2025, including how to watch it, where it starts, and why it’s the perfect excuse to explore China for yourself.

What is Race Across the World?

If you haven’t seen it before, Race Across the World is a BBC travel competition show where teams of two race thousands of miles across continents—without using planes. They travel by bus, train, boat, bike, and sometimes even on foot, relying on their wits and a limited budget. No phones. No internet. Just old-school travel. The team that arrives at the finish line first wins £20,000.

It’s exciting, emotional, and full of incredible scenery.

Where Does Race Across the World 2025 Start?

This year’s adventure kicks off on the Great Wall of China. From there, the teams will race towards to the finish line more than 14,000km away at Kanniyakumari, the southernmost tip of India.

When is it on and where can I watch it?

Race Across the World airs on BBC One starting Wednesday 23 April at 9 PM (UK time). You can also catch up on episodes anytime on BBC iPlayer.
